Who We Are
The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. We provide disaster relief, support military members and their families, collect lifesaving blood, offer health and safety training, and help communities prepare for and recover from disasters.
What We Do
The American Red Cross responds to home fires, severe storms, floods, and other disasters by providing emergency shelter, meals, comfort, cleanup supplies, financial assistance, and recovery support. Volunteers also help collect blood donations, install free smoke alarms, support military families, teach lifesaving skills, and assist communities before, during, and after emergencies. Every day, Red Cross volunteers make a difference in the lives of people facing their toughest moments.
